FIA Court Sentences Human Smuggler Involved in Greece Boat Tragedy to 60-Year Jail Term

Judge Muhammad Naeem Sheikh of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Gujranwala special court has handed down a significant sentence in the tragic Greece boat incident. The prime culprit, Muhammad Mumtaz, has been sentenced to a total of 60 years in prison and fined Rs4.2 million for his involvement in human smuggling.

Mumtaz was found guilty on three counts under the Immigration Ordinance of 1979, pertaining to human smuggling charges. The ruling highlights the seriousness of such offenses and underscores the necessity for strict law enforcement to deter future incidents of human trafficking.
