In the early hours of Friday, a significant fire broke out in a multi-story towel factory situated in Karachi’s Korangi Industrial Area, triggering emergency response efforts.
According to rescue teams on the scene, six fire brigade vehicles were swiftly dispatched to the site to combat the blaze. The fire was reportedly sparked by an explosion from the PMT transformer, a utility distribution transformer mounted on poles within the factory premises.
Efforts were immediately initiated to contain the fire, with rescue teams working diligently to quell the flames. Fortunately, the incident resulted in no casualties, as only a watchman was present during the outbreak, promptly alerting the authorities.

This recent fire incident marks the second in Karachi this week. Prior to this incident, a fire had erupted in Karachi’s Saddar mobile market, requiring extensive efforts from fire brigade authorities to bring it under control.
The earlier blaze originated in the early hours at Saddar Shah Jahan mobile market, spreading rapidly across multiple shops and posing a considerable challenge for responding firefighting teams.
