Ford CEO praises the electric F-150 Lightning while dismissing Tesla's Cybertruck

Ford Motor Company CEO Jim Farley recently attracted notice when he voiced his concerns about Tesla’s eagerly anticipated Cybertruck electric pickup.

Farley claimed that Cybertruck’s design is largely aimed at “Silicon Valley people” and is therefore unsuitable for ordinary use. He declared with assurance that Ford’s electric F-150 Lightning, which has already made substantial headway in the market, would be able to outsell Tesla’s pickup.

Ford has been busy developing and shipping electric F-150 pickups while Cybertruck has had delays. Ford outperforms Tesla in the electric pickup truck market despite Tesla’s overall domination of the electric vehicle industry.

Farley emphasised Ford’s leadership in electrified pickups and vans during the conversation. He emphasised how well they were aware of the demands and preferences of actual customers.

Farley responded to Elon Musk’s concept for the Cybertruck by saying that Musk should move on with his ideas if he wants to create a truck for Silicon Valley residents.

Although the Cybertruck’s official pricing has not yet been disclosed, industry predictions indicate that it will start at roughly $50,000, or about $10,000 less than the Ford F-150 Lightning.

Elon Musk has reassured consumers that Tesla is committed to delivering the Cybertruck by the end of this year despite numerous delivery setbacks.

Ford also declared their desire to use the Supercharger network and implement Tesla’s charging protocol. Farley expressed excitement for this collaboration and emphasised the advantages it will offer users.
