Hardik Pandya's Step Brother Apprehended for INR 43 Million Theft

Indian Vice Captain Hardik Pandya’s stepbrother, Vaibhav Pandya, has been arrested by Mumbai police for allegedly stealing INR 43 million from his brothers. According to reports from Indian media on Thursday, the arrest came after Hardik Pandya filed a formal complaint against Vaibhav, citing financial mismanagement that caused significant family discord.

The Pandya brothers, along with Vaibhav, entered into a business partnership in 2021 with an agreed-upon profit-sharing arrangement. Under the agreement, each Pandya brother was entitled to 40 percent of the income, while Vaibhav was entitled to 20 percent. However, Vaibhav allegedly transferred funds from the business to a newly formed company without informing anyone.

Mumbai police stated that Vaibhav’s actions violated the terms of the agreement with the Pandya brothers by establishing a separate firm in the same business, under another individual’s name, without prior notification.

Vaibhav was apprehended by the police on April 8 and presented before a court. He has been remanded in police custody until April 12.
