Has Maryam Nawaz Satisfied Citizens With Her Punjab’s CM Post?

A majority of Punjab’s population has expressed satisfaction with the provincial government led by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, a survey revealed on Sunday.

The Institute for Public Opinion Research (IPOR) conducted a quantitative survey in Punjab targeting adults (age 18 and above) to gauge public opinion on the 100-day performance of CM Maryam Nawaz, who made history as the first female Chief Minister of Punjab.

According to the survey, a majority of 55 percent of respondents expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Punjab government, with varying opinions between urban and rural areas.

Dissatisfaction was higher in rural areas at 42 percent compared to 28 percent in urban areas.

Among the 35 percent who were completely dissatisfied with CM Maryam Nawaz’s performance over the last three months, 51 percent believed the government would never be able to improve the situation, no matter the time given. Conversely, 19 percent of respondents were willing to give the government as much time as needed to make improvements.

The survey also revealed that 60 percent of respondents felt Maryam Nawaz’s popularity had increased over the last three months.

Additionally, 53 percent of respondents credited the government’s efforts for the decrease in commodity prices, while 42 percent viewed the reduction in bread (roti) prices as the most popular action taken by Maryam Nawaz’s government.

Other notable initiatives included the Solar Panel Program and the 200 Clinic on Wheels initiative, each mentioned by 11 percent of respondents.

The survey concluded that Maryam Nawaz’s leadership in Punjab is highly regarded, with strong public approval of her performance and initiatives. There is significant support for her efforts in reducing commodity prices and specific projects like the bread price reduction compared to other initiatives.
