Islamabad – Helen Mary Robert has made history by becoming the first-ever Christian woman from a religious minority to be promoted to the rank of Brigadier in the Pakistan Armed Forces. Serving in the Army Medical Corps, Brigadier Robert’s promotion is a significant milestone in the 76-year history of Pakistan.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced the promotion, highlighting the inclusive progress within the military. Brigadier Robert’s achievement underscores the broader strides being made toward recognizing and honoring the contributions of minority communities in Pakistan.

Last year, Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir commended the Christian community for their role in Pakistan’s development. The Pakistani constitution guarantees equal rights for minorities, and recent years have seen increased efforts to address the social challenges faced by minority communities.
