In the first eleven months of FY23, petroleum product production fell by 12%.

According to Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the production of petroleum products decreased 12.23% between July 2022 and May 2023, with its indexes falling from 99.93 to 87.71.

According to the official figures, high-speed diesel saw a 15.63 percent decline in production between July 2021 and May 2022, falling from 5.106 billion liters to 4.308 billion liters.

In comparison to the output of 2.334 billion liters in the July-May 2021–2022 period, furnace oil saw a 12.45 negative growth and remained at 2.043 billion liters in 2022–2023. In July-May 2022–23, the amount of jet fuel oil increased by 9.53 percent to 811.644 million liters from 741.023 million liters in July–May 2021–22.a

In July–May 2022–2023, kerosene oil saw a 10.30 percent decline in volume and stayed at 101.239 million liters as opposed to 112.865 million liters.

The PBS data show that cement output decreased 12.36% in the July–May 2022–23 period compared to the same period the previous year, when it increased by 43.140 million tons to 37.806 million tons.
