Interior Minister Naqvi Unveils New SOPs for Security of Chinese Citizens

Interior Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi announced on Thursday the development of new standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the security of Chinese citizens across Pakistan, ensuring strict implementation. He discussed these measures during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Masha Jiang Zaidong to coordinate arrangements for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s upcoming visit to China.

During the meeting, preparations for the prime minister’s visit and the security of Chinese citizens were prioritized. Additionally, discussions centered on the progress of investigations into the Bisham incident, which was deemed an attack on Pakistan-China friendship. Minister Naqvi assured the Chinese ambassador of Pakistan’s commitment to bringing the perpetrators of the incident to justice.

Expressing solidarity with China, Naqvi emphasized that Pakistan will not tolerate any conspiracy aimed at undermining the strong bond between the two countries. He highlighted the longstanding and brotherly relations between Pakistan and China, asserting that no adversary could succeed in harming them.

The meeting was attended by Federal Interior Secretary Khurram Agha, senior officials from the Chinese embassy, and relevant officers. Naqvi also took notice of the fire incident at Lahore Airport’s immigration counter, directing a detailed report and ordering a thorough investigation into the matter. He emphasized the prompt restoration of immigration services for passenger convenience.
