Islamabad Policewoman Sets New Marathon Record

The Pakistan Road Runner (PRR) coordinated the Sohail Memorial Ultra Marathon Race on December 31, 2023, covering the distance from Islamabad to Murree.

Stretching across a demanding 53km route from Serena Hotel in Islamabad to Murree City, the event attracted the participation of 8 individuals, comprising 6 men and 2 women.

In a groundbreaking accomplishment, Umaira Sheraz, a committed Lady Cop with the Islamabad Police, etched her name into the annals of history by breaking records in the Ultra Marathon category.

Joined by her team on the run from Islamabad to Murree, Umaira Sheraz completed the challenging 53km Ultra Marathon in an impressive time of 6 hours, 47 minutes, and 51 seconds, conquering an elevation of 2104 meters.

Umaira Sheraz’s exceptional performance not only sets a new benchmark in Pakistan’s Ultra Marathon history but also establishes her as the first and youngest female athlete to achieve this remarkable feat.
