IT and Telecom Sectors Crucial for Pakistan's Economic Advancement, Says IT Minister

The meeting between Minister of State for IT Shaza Fatima Khawaja and the high-level delegation of EDOTCO Group, led by its Group CEO Mohamed Adlan Ahmad Tajuddin, focused on matters related to telecom infrastructure and mutual interests. Minister Khawaja highlighted the government’s commitment to digitalization and providing quality broadband and internet services to the public.

Acknowledging the pivotal role of the IT and telecom sector in Pakistan’s economic development, the minister assured the delegation of the ministry’s efforts to address issues facing the telecom industry. She emphasized the importance of EDOTCO Group’s support in advancing the digitalization process in Pakistan and encouraged further investment in the telecom sector, highlighting the conducive environment for foreign investment.

The EDOTCO delegation commended the IT ministry’s efforts in promoting the IT and telecommunication sector and expressed their willingness to collaborate further. Both sides agreed to establish a working group to facilitate cooperation and address mutual concerns.

The meeting was attended by additional officials from the Ministry of IT and Telecom, including Aisha Humera Moriani, Babar Majeed Bhatti, Muhammad Jahanzeb Rahim, and Syed Jawwad Ali Sherazi, along with key members of the EDOTCO delegation.
