The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) is gearing up Jinnah Stadium in Islamabad for a significant FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifier against Cambodia. With clearance from the Pakistan Sports Board, a PFF delegation, including Shahid Khokhar from the PFF Normalisation Committee and national team head coach Shahzad Anwar, thoroughly inspected the renowned venue within the Pakistan Sports Complex.

Khokhar expressed contentment with the stadium’s facilities and praised the Pakistan Sports Board’s efforts for successful hosting. Emphasizing adherence to FIFA standards, he highlighted the importance of a well-prepared pitch and scoreboard. The PFF plans to request AFC and FIFA for a venue evaluation

In recent developments, the PFF Normalization Committee met with Dr. Asif Tufail, Director-General of the Sports Board Punjab, to finalize the venue for the qualifier. The home match against Cambodia is scheduled for October 17th, marking a crucial milestone in Pakistan’s World Cup qualifier journey.

It’s worth noting that Pakistan will also face Cambodia in Cambodia on October 12th as part of the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifying round.
