Know Islamabad's Updated Speed Limits Across the City

The Chief Commissioner of Islamabad Capital Territory has introduced updated speed limits for various vehicles throughout the city. This decision comes in the wake of last year’s modifications, despite studies suggesting that lower speeds could potentially result in increased accidents. The new speed limits aim to streamline traffic flow and mitigate the likelihood of road incidents.

The adjusted speed limits for different roads and highways in Islamabad have been delineated as part of a strategic approach to traffic management. Distinct speed limits have been set for Light Transport Vehicles (LTV) and Heavy Transport Vehicles/Public Service Vehicles (HTV/PSV) to optimize traffic operations and bolster safety, particularly in proximity to educational institutions and healthcare facilities.

The implementation of these revised speed limits will involve stringent enforcement measures to ensure widespread compliance. Anticipated to significantly influence daily commuting patterns, these changes are expected to alter travel times and overall traffic dynamics. As the residents of Islamabad adapt to these new regulations, the community is urged to stay well-informed and adhere to the prescribed guidelines, thereby contributing to a safer and more efficient road network.
