Govinda Suffers Leg Injury After Accidental Misfire at Home

Veteran Bollywood actor Govinda, 60, sustained a leg injury on Tuesday morning when his licensed revolver accidentally misfired at his Juhu residence, Mumbai Police confirmed. The incident occurred around 4:45 am as the actor was preparing for a flight to Kolkata.

According to Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, the revolver accidentally fell from a cupboard and discharged. “Thankfully, Govinda ji only suffered a minor injury to his leg,” Sinha shared. The actor was rushed to Criticare Hospital, where the bullet was safely extracted. Medical staff confirmed the wound was below his knee, and Govinda’s condition is now stable.

Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, returned to Mumbai from Kolkata upon hearing the news, while their daughter Tina stayed by her father’s side during his treatment. In an audio message to fans, Govinda expressed gratitude for their prayers and support. “I thank the doctors and the blessings of my fans for keeping me safe,” he said.

Mumbai Police stated that no formal complaint has been lodged, and they are investigating the incident as an accident, with no signs of foul play.

The actor, known for his iconic roles in films like Coolie No. 1 and Partner, is now resting at home, with upcoming engagements rescheduled.
