Hina Bayat Suggests Aamir Khan’s Satyamev Jayate Was Inspired By Her Talk Show

Aamir Khan

Hina Bayat, a veteran actress and talk show host, revealed that Aamir Khan’s Satyamev Jayate closely resembled her show Hina Ke Sath in format and theme. Speaking on Ushna Shah’s talk show After Hours, Bayat shared how her groundbreaking program addressed taboo societal issues, much like Khan’s later venture.

Bayat launched Hina Ke Sath to focus on mental health and social challenges rarely discussed openly in Pakistan. She recalled tackling sensitive topics with the aim of fostering understanding and sparking change. Bayat noted that when Satyamev Jayate premiered in 2012, her team immediately noticed similarities in its content and set design.

She clarified she does not accuse Aamir Khan of copying but believes the show was heavily inspired by hers. “The format and approach were strikingly similar,” she said, adding that her team was surprised to see these parallels. Bayat’s impactful work paved the way for discussions on mental health and societal taboos in Pakistani media.

While Satyamev Jayate gained international acclaim, Bayat’s contributions remain a significant milestone in addressing complex societal issues, raising questions about originality and influence in media.
