Karni Sena Announces ₹1.11 Crore Reward for Lawrence Bishnoi’s Encounter

Lawrence Bishnoi

The Kshatriya Karni Sena, a right-wing group in India, has announced a reward of ₹1.11 crore for any police officer who kills gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in an encounter. Bishnoi, who is currently imprisoned, is accused of orchestrating several high-profile murders.

Raj Shekhawat, the national president of the Kshatriya Karni Sena, made the announcement through a video on X (formerly Twitter). The reward is in response to the murder of the group’s former president, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, who was shot dead in December 2023. Shekhawat holds Bishnoi’s gang responsible for Gogamedi’s death.

The Sena’s announcement has sparked widespread attention, raising concerns about the endorsement of extrajudicial killings. The Karni Sena has promised to provide full security for any police officer who takes on Bishnoi, including protection for their family.

Bishnoi, who is linked to multiple murders, including the high-profile killing of singer Sidhu Moosewala, continues to exert influence from prison, fueling tension and calls for action from groups like the Karni Sena.
