A 34-year-old man, Saddam Hussain from Nagar Bazaar, converted to Hinduism and changed his name to Shivshankar Soni to marry his girlfriend of 10 years. The couple, belonging to different religions, faced familial resistance, making their marriage initially impossible.

The situation escalated when the woman, 30, filed a complaint accusing Saddam of rape, coercion into abortion, and threats. Following police action, the couple resolved their differences and tied the knot in a temple on Sunday night, adhering to Hindu customs.
SHO Devendra Singh confirmed the marriage, stating both individuals acted of their own free will. The couple has decided to move forward together despite the challenges.
