Famous Indian actor Naseeruddin Shah expressed his worries about the rising anti-Muslim prejudice in a recent interview, calling it a carefully nurtured mindset that has regrettably come to be accepted in society.
Shah, who is well known for his candor and criticism of the current administration’s party, shined light on the worrisome incidence of open Islamophobia and its perilous repercussions for a multicultural country like India. Shah firmly held the opinion that the nation’s harsh reality of Islamophobia is reflected in the contemporary cinematic environment. He made the observation that propaganda presented as entertainment is gladly absorbed, reflecting the current political climate.

Shah’s findings showed a worrying trend where even intelligent people have fallen prey to anti-Muslim prejudice, which the governing party has skillfully used to entwine religion with political ambitions. He questioned why, in spite of India’s founding ideals of secularism and democracy, religion is being incorporated into every sphere of society.
