Sania Zehra body was found hanging from a fan at her in-laws’ residence, leading to its exhumation on court orders, with medical samples sent for forensic analysis.

Dr. Munazzah, head of the anti-violence unit for women, confirmed the Punjab government’s exhumation of Sania’s body to gather forensic evidence. Sania Zehra father, Asad Abbas, lodged a complaint, resulting in a case against her husband and his family, who were initially on the run.

Abbas claimed that his daughter was murdered at night and hanged in the morning to simulate a suicide, calling for justice from the Punjab government and district administration.

The exhumation was supervised by a magistrate, and samples were sent to Lahore for forensic analysis. New Multan police assured that the suspects would be apprehended soon.
