Renowned United States writer and activist Jeffery Shaun King, along with his wife Rai King, embraced Islam on the first day of Ramzan 1445 AH-2024. This significant event was broadcasted live by US-based Professor Khaled Beydoun on Instagram on March 11. The couple pronounced the Shahadah, a testament of faith, with the assistance of US Muslim scholar and activist Omar Suleiman.
Shaun King, 44 years old, is widely recognized for his advocacy within movements associated with the Democratic Party, notably Black Lives Matter. Despite his previous affiliations with Christianity, Shaun’s journey has led him to embrace Islam, marking a significant shift in his spiritual beliefs.
In the past, Shaun King had identified himself as a Christian and even served as a pastor for nearly a decade. However, his recent conversion to Islam reflects a profound transformation in his religious convictions.

Shaun King’s activism extends beyond domestic issues, as he has also been vocal in advocating for Palestinian rights and dignity. His support for Palestine against Israel’s actions in the ongoing conflict led to his Instagram account being banned on December 25.
