LNG agreement between Pakistan and Azerbaijan

KARACHI, Pakistan – Musadik Malik, Minister of State for Petroleum, stated on Saturday that Pakistan would purchase one spot LNG shipment from Azerbaijan each month.
He told the reporters in Karachi that Pakistan and Azerbaijan would sign a historic LNG agreement on July 24.

The minister also stated that Azerbaijan would be purchasing 12 LNG cargo ships.
Along with the LNG contract, Malik revealed that a $14 billion investment agreement with Saudi Arabia in the refinery industry will be signed before the current administration’s term ends.
According to the minister, Pakistan plans to buy 1.2 million tonnes of oil from Russia each year, with 100,000 tonnes purchased each month.
He stated that the US is unconcerned about it and that all trade difficulties with Russia have been settled.
