Malaysia To Host Pakistan Tape Ball Cricket Contest For 3 Days

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia will host its first-ever three-day Pakistani tape ball cricket tournament titled “Meri Cricket Meri Jeet” from June 28, organized in collaboration with Bank Al Habib and IPG, as per a press release on Monday.

The event will showcase regional teams from Pakistan such as Swat Cheeta, Swabi Champion, Sialkot Badshah, Rawalpindi Express, Buner Bahadur, Karachi Heroes, Lahore Sherdil, and Peshawar Leopards.

Admission to the tape ball cricket festival is free, with special activities arranged for families and children, and will feature cricket legends Sarfraz Ahmed, Rashid Latif, and Imran Nazir in attendance to support the players.

A lucky draw with prizes, including a return air ticket to Pakistan, will be held, while fans catching balls outside the boundary can take photos with the cricket stars.

A joint meeting involving representatives from leading Pakistani media houses in Malaysia, the Malaysia Pakistan Business Council, and dignitaries was held in Kuala Lumpur to discuss promoting Pakistan positively through cricket and enhancing Malaysia-Pakistan relations.

The meeting, chaired by Dato’ Sri Nazir Mira Salam, Chairman of the Malaysia Pakistan Business Council, reviewed plans to welcome Pakistani cricket stars and praised organizers for boosting Pakistan’s image abroad.

Renowned Pakistani singers Jabran Raheel and Sofia Kaif will perform at the festival to entertain attendees, including officials from the Pakistan Business Council Malaysia and prominent social figures and journalists.

Thousands of Pakistani residents in Malaysia are expected to join with their families to witness the tournament featuring Pakistan’s national cricket heroes.
