Mark Ruffalo Advocates for Peace in Gaza War

During the 76th Annual DGA Awards, actor Mark Ruffalo advocated for a ceasefire between Israel and Palestine, emphasizing the ineffectiveness of bombing in achieving peace. Wearing lapel buttons representing “peace lilies” and endorsing “Artists for Ceasefire,” an organization promoting a lasting truce in Gaza, Ruffalo drew attention to the toll of the Israel-Hamas conflict and highlighted the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

He specifically pointed out the one million refugees on the border of Rafah facing the threat of further bombings and the 400,000 people currently at risk of starvation without adequate humanitarian aid. Ruffalo urged global leaders, particularly President Biden, to prioritize diplomacy and push for a lasting ceasefire, stressing the urgency of the situation. It’s noteworthy that the death toll in Gaza has exceeded 28,000, and Israel has initiated airstrikes in Rafah, previously designated as a safe zone.
