NEPRA Approves a Tariff Increase of Rs. 1.44 Per Unit for KE Users

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) told K-Electric on Friday that it will charge an additional Rs. 1.44 per unit to its customers in the current month’s bill.

The authority’s judgment concerned K-Electric Limited’s monthly fuel charge modifications for the month of May 2023. According to a notification issued by the electricity regulator, K-Electric will reflect the fuel prices adjustment for May 2023 in the July 2023 billing month.

Except for lifeline consumers, the hike will apply to all consumer groups. Furthermore, it will be reflected individually in the consumers’ invoices based on the units billed to the consumers in the month in question

“K-Electric shall keep in mind and strictly comply with the orders of the courts notwithstanding this order,” the statement added.
