Overseas Pakistani Killed Returning Home from Islamabad Airport

In a tragic incident on Range Road in the Race Course area of Rawalpindi, an overseas Pakistani lost his life while bravely resisting an armed robbery. The victim, who had recently arrived at the New Islamabad Airport from England, was accompanied by his cousin and six-year-old daughter.

According to the police, the assailants intercepted the victim’s car at a fraudulent police checkpoint, attempting to snatch his hand-carry bag. Tragically, the situation escalated as the robbers shot the victim in response to his resistance. The criminals swiftly fled the scene with the victim’s hand luggage, which contained foreign currency, valuables, and crucial travel documents.

Following the incident, the injured overseas Pakistani was rushed to a nearby hospital, where, unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter, actively collecting evidence from the crime scene to apprehend the perpetrators.

Race Course SHO Raja Iftikhar stated, “We are collecting video footage from CCTV cameras in the area. We will soon track down the criminals and bring them to justice,” underscoring the authorities’ commitment to resolving the case and holding the culprits accountable for their actions.
