Pakistan Celebrates Eid Ul Adha 2024 With Joy, Family Reunions, And Festive Feasts

Eid-ul-Adha is being celebrated across Pakistan and in parts of the world with religious fervor. People are engaging in animal sacrifices, special congregational prayers, and observing family reunions, feasts, and charitable activities on this Festival of Sacrifice.

This year, the government declared three holidays for the festival, and railways and some airlines reduced fares to help people spend Eid with their families.

Eid-ul-Adha commemorates the significant sacrifices of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismael (AS). The day started with special prayers in mosques for the well-being of Muslims and the country’s progress, prosperity, and security. Eid prayer congregations were held in mosques, Eidgahs, and open spaces in cities, towns, and villages.

Islamic scholars, in their Eid sermons, emphasized the importance of the sacrifices made by Hazrat Ibrahim and Hazrat Ismael (AS). People are sacrificing animals in accordance with the Sunnah of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS).

Civic authorities in cities and towns have made special arrangements for the disposal of offal and other solid waste during the three days of Eid-ul-Adha.

President and Prime Minister extend warm Eid greetings to the nation

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended warm Eid greetings to the nation. In his message, the President prayed for Allah’s blessings and happiness for the Muslim world and Pakistan. The Prime Minister highlighted the significance of Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) commitment and readiness to sacrifice his son, teaching the value of selflessness and devotion to Allah SWT.
