Over 4,800 processions and 5,480 Majalis-e-Aza were held across Pakistan to mark Ashura, with authorities enforcing strict security measures nationwide. The Ministry of Interior declared 1,301 areas as highly sensitive, ensuring heightened vigilance to maintain peace and religious harmony.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that all security and administrative agencies remained on high alert. A crackdown on sectarian content circulating on social media is also underway. He praised the efforts of law enforcement, the army, rangers, and local administrations for ensuring a peaceful Ashura.

A central monitoring cell coordinated closely with provincial control rooms throughout the day. The Prime Minister was regularly briefed on the security situation by the Interior Ministry leadership.
Regionally, Punjab led with over 3,000 processions, followed by Sindh, KP, Islamabad, and areas in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, all of which saw heavy police presence and controlled routes for smooth observance of rituals.
