Abdul Aleem Khan Orders Immediate Action on Highway Repairs and Upgrades

Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has instructed the National Highway Authority (NHA) to expedite the repair and maintenance of highways and motorways nationwide. Chairing a high-level NHA meeting, the minister emphasized that timely repairs are critical for safe and efficient travel.

He commended the efforts of the newly appointed NHA team, noting significant improvements. “Our aim is to make public travel comfortable, smooth, and hassle-free,” Khan said, while urging continued performance enhancement from all NHA officials.

Key directives included immediate construction on the heavily trafficked Tarnol-Kohat Road segment and the upgradation of the Gujranwala Bypass. The minister also called for the installation of lighting and fencing on roads in the Kamra Cantonment area.

Khan emphasized that defects on any road must be addressed without delay, and all maintenance initiatives must adhere to transparency, cost-effectiveness, and long-term utility.
