ANF Seizes Rs10 Million in Drugs in Operations Targeting Schools

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has conducted a series of operations across Pakistan, seizing drugs valued at over Rs10 million in a targeted crackdown on drug trafficking around educational institutions and other areas.

According to an ANF spokesperson, a total of 81.806 kilograms of drugs were confiscated in 13 different operations, resulting in the arrest of 12 suspects.

Among the significant recoveries were:

  • 1.8 kg of hashish near Empress Market in Karachi,
  • 490 grams of hashish near Fateh Chowk in Hyderabad,
  • 46 grams of heroin found in a parcel at a courier office on RCD Road, Hub, destined for Karachi.
  • 4 kg of hashish seized near a university in Hyderabad,
  • 230 grams of hashish recovered near Bidera Chowk in Mansehra.

In another incident, a passenger at Multan Airport was caught with 2.4 kg of ice (methamphetamine) while attempting to board a flight to Bahrain. In Gujranwala, 16.6 kg of hashish and 1.44 kg of ice were also confiscated.

The operations extended to Quetta, where 1.5 kg of heroin and 500 grams of ice were recovered near Sibi Road. Additionally, 25 kg of hashish was seized in Panjgur, while authorities in Islamabad confiscated 1.2 kg of opium and 12 kg of hashish near Chungi No. 26. On the M-1 motorway in Islamabad, 10 kg of heroin was seized from a vehicle, leading to the arrest of two more suspects.

In Balochistan, the ANF intensified its crackdown on drug smuggling, arresting three suspects in two separate operations that netted a total of 68 kilograms of drugs worth Rs4,700,000. The first operation near Sariab Road in Quetta resulted in the recovery of 20 kilograms of cannabis from three individuals, while 48 kilograms of cannabis were found hidden in bushes along the Gwadar coastline.

All suspects have been charged under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and investigations into their activities are ongoing.
