Pakistan’s javelin star, Arshad Nadeem, landed at Lahore airport late Saturday night after making history by winning the country’s first gold medal in 40 years at the Paris Olympics 2024. He traveled from Paris via Istanbul on a Turkish Airlines flight, and the plane received a water cannon salute upon arrival.
A massive crowd assembled at the airport to celebrate Arshad Nadeem’s return with his gold medal. After greeting his family and government officials in the state lounge, he briefly came out to wave to the crowd. However, due to overwhelming excitement and difficulties with security, he had to return to the lounge.

The enthusiastic crowd at the airport included people waving a large national flag and dancing to drumbeats. Prominent figures, including Arshad Nadeem’s family, Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal, PM Youth Programme Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, and Federal Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja, were present to welcome the Olympic hero.
