Ashura (10th Muharram) is being observed in Pakistan and other parts of the world on Wednesday, with heightened security and mobile phone service suspensions in several areas.

This day commemorates Hazrat Imam Husain R.A, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and the other martyrs of Karbala.

Imam Hussain (RA) is remembered for his immense sacrifice and stand against tyranny, with scholars urging the public to draw inspiration from this event to tackle current challenges facing the nation and the Muslim community.
