An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Karachi has granted five-day physical remand for four suspects accused of attacking a branch of an American fast food chain, while seven others involved in a similar incident have been sent on judicial remand.
The Sir Syed police presented Asad, Noman, Talha, and Rehan before the court, alleging they chanted provocative slogans, threw stones, and damaged both government and private property. According to the investigating officer (IO), their actions created panic in the area, and the suspects are believed to be repeat offenders. The court accepted the IO’s request for remand to further investigate and review CCTV footage.

Separately, Korangi Industrial Area Police brought in seven more suspects—Shamim, Muhammad Hassan, Saghar Shah, Hamza, Waqar Younis, Shahzad, and Muhammad Amin—linked to another attack on a fast food outlet. While the court questioned the identification process from a crowd of nearly a thousand, the IO cited the recent transfer of the case to him and ongoing efforts to review surveillance footage. These individuals were sent to jail on judicial remand.
In another development, the Additional District and Sessions Judge (District East) granted bail to Aniq, a suspect in a fatal road accident on Sharae Faisal. Aniq, previously on judicial remand, was released on bail against a surety bond of Rs100,000 in connection with a crash that claimed the lives of a married couple.
