The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has successfully intercepted a significant drug trafficking operation near Pakistan’s Makran coastal line, recovering 60 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, commonly referred to as “ice.” Acting on intelligence, the ANF tracked a speedboat en route to the Gulf of Oman, launching an operation near Jiwani, a town located on the coastal border between Pakistan and Iran. The narcotics were concealed in packets and boxes, but despite the successful seizure, the suspects managed to escape. Authorities are continuing their search for those involved.
The ANF spokesperson highlighted that the operation was carried out despite limited resources, underscoring the agency’s commitment to curbing drug smuggling. A case has been registered under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and further investigations are underway.

This operation follows a series of successful ANF operations across Pakistan last month. In ten separate efforts, the force seized 643 kilograms of illegal drugs and arrested ten suspects, including a woman. The seized narcotics, including hashish, opium, heroin, and intoxicating tablets, are estimated to be worth over Rs 80 million on the market. Several of the operations took place near educational institutions, raising concerns about the targeting of students and young people in the drug trade.
The ANF’s continued crackdown on drug trafficking serves as a strong deterrent and underscores the importance of ongoing efforts to combat the rising threat of narcotics in Pakistan.
