Two Killed, 15 Injured in Bomb Blast in South Waziristan

A deadly bomb blast rocked the Wana area of South Waziristan on Thursday, killing two people and injuring 15 others. The explosion occurred near a police mobile in Rustam Bazaar, a crowded part of Wana.

According to DSP Imranullah, the bomb was remote-controlled and detonated near the Shakai Stand as a police van passed by. The blast severely damaged the police vehicle and created panic in the area.

Civilians and Police Among the Injured

The explosion resulted in the deaths of Sardar Hussain from Barmal and Muhammad Adnan from Dera Ismail Khan. Among the 15 injured are both police officers and civilians. Some are in critical condition.

All injured were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital in Wana. A state of emergency was declared at the hospital. Rescue 1122 teams and medical staff are working around the clock to treat the victims.

Security Tightened in South Waziristan

In response to the attack, a large number of security personnel have been deployed in Wana Tehsil. The local police and Frontier Corps (FC) quickly cordoned off the blast site.

According to the District Police Officer of South Waziristan, forensic teams are collecting evidence. An investigation has been launched to find those responsible.

This incident has raised fresh concerns over the security situation in South Waziristan, a region that has experienced similar attacks in the past. Authorities are on high alert to prevent further violence.
