Brazilian Woman Caught at Karachi Airport for Attempting to Smuggle Cocaine

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle 1.396 kilograms of cocaine into Pakistan at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport. A Brazilian woman, arriving from Brazil, was arrested after appearing suspicious during passenger clearance. The cocaine was discovered hidden in her undergarments in a plastic pouch. The estimated value of the seized drugs is over Rs 13.9 million.

The woman has been charged under the Narcotics Control Act, and further investigations are ongoing.

This operation is part of the ANF’s broader efforts to combat drug smuggling across Pakistan. Recently, the ANF also seized 37 kilograms of drugs, valued over Rs 4.2 million, in operations across the country. These included a drug bust near a university in Islamabad, where 90 grams of hashish were recovered, and a suspect admitted to selling drugs to students.

The ANF’s ongoing efforts target drug trafficking networks and their increasingly sophisticated smuggling methods.
