A remarkable feat has been achieved by 16-year-old British Pakistani student Mahnoor Cheema. She has set an exceptional record by passing a staggering total of 34 subjects at the General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) level. This accomplishment not only stands as an unprecedented achievement within the United Kingdom but also on a global scale.

Mahnoor’s remarkable journey involved securing A* grades in 17 subjects as a private candidate during her Year 10. Displaying even greater prowess, she went on to conquer an additional 17 subjects, achieving an extraordinary total of 34. This achievement sets a new benchmark, representing the highest number of subjects ever taken by a student in the history of UK and EU GCSEs.

Of Pakistani origin, Mahnoor Cheema’s parents moved to the UK for further education. She joined Langley Grammar School in West London and has a remarkable IQ of 161 on the Mensa IQ Test, placing her among the top 1 percent of the world’s population.

Mahnoor’s achievements extend beyond academics. She has completed ABRSM Music Theory and Practical at Grade 8 with distinction and is among the youngest pursuing a music diploma in the UK. Additionally, her passion for medicine led her to excel in tests like the University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT) and the Biomedical Admissions Test (BMAT).
