The incident has caused outrage among locals who are demanding strict punishment for those responsible. Authorities are currently investigating the case, and the victims have been hospitalized for medical treatment.

Cockfighting, a traditional but controversial practice in some rural areas of Pakistan, involves roosters fighting while spectators bet on the outcome.

Though culturally rooted in some communities, cockfighting is illegal under Pakistan’s animal cruelty laws. The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act bans organizing or promoting such fights.

Animal welfare activists have condemned cockfighting for its cruelty and are calling for stronger enforcement against it.
