The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to employ hunting cats to address the rat problem in the Parliament House. A budget of Rs1.2 million has been allocated for this initiative. Additionally, special windows with nets will be installed to help trap the rats, and the CDA will collaborate with the private sector for effective rat control.
The rat infestation is primarily due to the structure of the ceilings in the Parliament House, which has led to significant damage in various Senate and National Assembly departments. The rodents have even chewed on important files in several parliamentary offices. A spokesperson for the National Assembly confirmed that the CDA will take necessary steps to eliminate the rats.
