The Capital Development Authority (CDA) in Islamabad recently published an updated list of approved housing societies. The aim is to provide essential information to prospective property buyers, as reported on July 31.
The CDA follows a two-step approval process, starting with technical approval of the project’s Layout Plan (LOP) and then issuing No Objection Certificates (NOC) once all requirements are met. After obtaining the NOC, sponsors can proceed with development work and plot sales.

Zone-4 permits agro-farming and residential housing schemes under the ICT (Zoning) Regulation, 1992 (amended in 2010). However, the CDA only grants permission for such schemes after completing all necessary formalities.
The CDA is cracking down on the marketing and advertising of housing projects without the proper NOC, as it is illegal and unauthorized. Advertisers and marketing agencies are strictly prohibited from misleadingly promoting such schemes. Furthermore, project sponsors have been directed not to market or develop housing schemes without the necessary NOC from the CDA.
The presence of illegal housing societies has raised concerns among various segments of society, as they pose significant risks to potential real estate investors in Islamabad. The release of this updated data allows potential buyers to access reliable information, enabling them to make informed decisions and protect their investments.
