Monica.im, a Chinese tech company, has introduced Manus, the world’s first AI agent capable of autonomously handling complex tasks, marking a significant leap beyond traditional AI assistants. The launch, which coincided with Apple’s latest product release, has drawn attention from users eager to obtain invitation codes for the new platform.
Manus differs from conventional AI tools by executing tasks independently, delivering complete results rather than offering suggestions or answers. The system utilizes a multisig approach, powered by multiple independent models working together to enhance its decision-making capabilities. Developers plan to open-source parts of the model, particularly the inference component, later this year.

During a four-minute demo, Manus demonstrated its ability to autonomously manage tasks, such as screening candidates for a reinforcement learning algorithm engineer position, extracting key resume details, and completing the task without human intervention.
Manus has set a new state-of-the-art performance benchmark in the GAIA test, which assesses general AI assistant abilities. The project is led by Xiao Hong, a graduate of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, who previously founded Ye Ying Technology and launched AI-powered tools backed by major investors like Tencent and ZhenFund.
This launch comes at a time when major AI firms, including OpenAI, are heavily investing in AI agents. On March 6, OpenAI announced pricing for its doctor-level AI agents at $20,000 per month, targeting industries such as finance, healthcare, and manufacturing.
