Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Qazi Faez Isa addressed rumors about his tenure extension.
In response to a query about Prime Minister’s advisor Rana Sanaullah’s comments, Justice Isa clarified that he had met with Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar, Attorney General, and Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, but Rana Sanaullah was not present. Tarar had mentioned that the government plans to extend all Chief Justices’ tenures, but Isa stated he would not accept an extension, regardless of any broader changes.

Regarding the delay in the case involving six judges’ letters, Justice Isa explained that the committee is responsible for scheduling hearings and cited Justice Musarrat Hilali’s health as a factor.
Previously, Rana Sanaullah claimed in an interview that while CJP Isa had rejected an extension for himself, he might consider it if the age limit for all judges was extended.
