Competition Commission of Pakistan Welcomes New Member

Saeed Ahmad Nawaz has assumed the role of the fourth Member of the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP), contributing a wealth of experience and expertise to the organization.

Saeed Ahmad Nawaz holds an MBA from the University of the Punjab, with a specialization in finance. He received the prestigious Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship in 2002-03, during which he studied finance and economics at Boston University in the USA. Nawaz was also honored with the World Bank-Government of Pakistan-sponsored Professional Development Program Award in 2006-07. He expanded his academic horizons by completing his M.Sc. in Local Economic Development from the London School of Economics, UK, and engaged with public and private sector organizations in both the US and the UK.

His professional journey began as a commissioned officer in the Pakistan Army, and he was later inducted into the District Management Group. He has served in various capacities for the Governments of Punjab and KPK, spanning from sub-divisions to provincial departments. His roles have been diverse, encompassing team leadership and staff officer positions.

During his tenure at the National School of Public Policy, he served as Directing Staff, Chief Instructor, and Head of Administration (Director General). His service in the Federal Secretariat involved effectively handling a wide spectrum of critical issues, including Covid-19 related relief measures, industrial policy, corporate governance, poverty alleviation, and social security.

Saeed Ahmad Nawaz’s extensive background and experience make him a valuable addition to the Competition Commission of Pakistan, where he is poised to contribute to its mission and objectives.
