Couple Heading to Saudi Arabia Along with their Daughter for 'Begging' Detained in Faisalabad

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested a family at Faisalabad Airport on Friday for attempting to travel to Saudi Arabia for the purpose of begging, according to News.

An FIA immigration spokesperson revealed that this family had previously been offloaded from Lahore Airport last month. The arrested individuals—identified as Munawar Hussain, Shafia Bibi, and their minor daughter—had a history of traveling to Iraq, Iran, and Saudi Arabia for similar reasons.

The FIA stated that the family could not provide legitimate sources of income or satisfactory explanations for their expenses incurred during multiple foreign trips. Additionally, they had no tax return records with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and lacked return tickets or hotel reservations. Consequently, they were transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Faisalabad for further legal action.

Last month, the FIA also detained 11 people, including eight women, at Karachi Airport who were attempting to travel to Saudi Arabia under the pretense of performing Umrah, as their return tickets and hotel bookings were found to be fraudulent.
