Court Martial Proceedings for Ex-ISI Chief Faiz Hameed Begin: ISPR

Lt Gen Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry, the DG ISPR, provided a comprehensive update on Pakistan Army’s counter-terrorism operations and internal accountability. He shared that over 32,000 intelligence-based operations have been conducted, resulting in the elimination of terrorists, including key figures, and the martyrdom of 193 army personnel. In Balochistan, 21 terrorists were neutralized following multiple attacks allegedly supported by external forces aiming to disrupt development.

Chaudhry also discussed the army’s commitment to self-accountability, highlighting the court-martial proceedings against former ISI chief Faiz Hameed for violating regulations and working for personal political gain. He stressed that the army operates without political bias, with a clear focus on national security and public welfare. The DG ISPR emphasized the importance of Pakistan’s criminal justice system in breaking the nexus of terrorists and criminal mafias, while reiterating that the army supports the government in various developmental efforts.
