Deadline For July And August Electricity Bills Extended By 10 Days

In a move to ease public strain, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has extended the payment deadline for Electricity Bills by 10 days.

The Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Energy to adjust the deadline, prompting the Power Division to instruct all power distribution companies, including K-Electric, to apply this extension to July and August 2024 bills.

This decision addresses the difficulties faced by consumers with high electricity bills. The new deadlines allow July bills, originally due on August 7, to be paid by August 17, and August bills to be settled by September 17, ensuring a consistent one-month interval between payment dates.

Additionally, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has prepared a report addressing overbilling issues from April to June 2024.
