At least 11 labourers lost their lives, and seven others sustained critical injuries in a deadly explosion in Balochistan’s Harnai district on Friday. According to police, the blast was caused by a bomb planted on the roadside near a vehicle transporting coal miners.
Deputy Commissioner Harnai confirmed that most of the victims were from Swat and Shangla. Following the explosion, security forces swiftly cordoned off the area and initiated an investigation, collecting evidence from the scene.

The Balochistan government strongly condemned the attack, with provincial spokesperson Shahid Rand stating that an inquiry had been launched. Initial findings suggest the explosive device was placed beside the road to target the labourers.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also expressed deep sorrow over the incident, calling for a thorough probe. The tragedy follows another fatal coal mine accident last week in Darra Adam Khel, where two workers from Shangla lost their lives.
