Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif stated on Friday that the recent drone attacks near Pakistani territory were primarily reconnaissance missions meant to trace locations rather than inflict damage. Addressing the National Assembly, he clarified that Pakistani forces did not deliberately intercept these drones, but reaffirmed that any military provocation would be met with a precise and calculated response.
Emphasizing restraint, Asif reiterated that Pakistan has no intention of harming Indian civilians but stands ready to retaliate against military aggression. He praised the courage of Pakistan’s armed forces deployed along the Line of Control and Working Boundary, assuring that their capabilities to defend the nation would soon be evident.

The minister accused India of violating international norms by targeting civilian areas, a move that risks further escalating regional tensions. He highlighted growing international support for Pakistan from nations such as Turkey, China, and Azerbaijan, and noted that even some of India’s traditional allies have distanced themselves from its recent actions.
Speaking earlier on a television programme, Asif dismissed Indian claims of downing a Pakistani aircraft as misleading, pointing to evidence of Indian aircraft losses. He criticized Indian officials and media for spreading contradictory narratives, while stressing that Pakistan seeks peace but will not compromise on its national security.
