LAHORE – Moments after receiving a dismissal in the graft case, the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) detained PTI President Parvez Elahi again outside a court in Lahore, according to sources on Friday.
According to sources, the PTI leader will be transferred to the Gujranwala directorate since he was sought in connection with another case that had been filed there. Suhail Zafar Chatha, director general of ACE, indicated that the department will appeal the Lahore court’s decision. “The verdict has been announced in contrast to the merit,” he continued.

If the PTI leader wasn’t needed in any other cases, the court had already authorized his release. The decision, which had been reserved previously, was pronounced by judicial magistrate Ghulam Murtaza Virk. In an armored vehicle, Mr. Elahi was driven to court while his family, including son Rasikh Elahi, were there and under heavy protection.
The prominent politician has been physically detained for 14 days so that the anti-corruption squad may question him about the matter. The judge listened to all parties’ arguments before making her judgement.
