Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur delivered a passionate speech in the provincial assembly on Tuesday, threatening a future protest aimed at the removal of the Islamabad Inspector General (IG) if he is not dismissed. This statement comes after Gandapur’s recent mysterious disappearance during a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest in Islamabad, which sparked widespread concern and led to the assembly passing an urgent resolution demanding his release.
Gandapur, who was last seen leading PTI supporters into Islamabad on October 5, resurfaced after being absent for nearly a day. CCTV footage showed him entering the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House before leaving in civilian clothes, raising questions about the circumstances of his exit.

During his speech, Gandapur expressed frustration over the repression faced by PTI during protests, stating, “Wherever we hold a rally, we are treated like animals.” He criticized the heavy-handed tactics employed against PTI members, particularly in Punjab, where he claimed their protests were met with violence and forced relocations to less favorable venues.
He accused the Islamabad IG of leading a violent raid on the K-P House, treating PTI members as criminals, and described how police and Rangers had assaulted them. Gandapur recounted his escape, revealing he was smuggled out through a back door after being separated from his mobile phone and money.
Praising the resilience of PTI workers, he called the current repression “unparalleled in history” and directed his ire at the federal government, particularly Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, accusing them of neglecting the country’s welfare. He warned that those in power would face consequences for their actions and called for reform and repentance.
The speech garnered strong support from assembly members, who chanted slogans in solidarity with Gandapur, highlighting the ongoing tensions between PTI and the federal government amid a backdrop of protests and political unrest in Pakistan.
