Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of plotting to disrupt the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit. Naqvi, speaking during a visit to Polyclinic Hospital in Islamabad, claimed that PTI’s actions were aimed at undermining the important international event, but assured the public that the government would thwart such plans.
During his visit, Naqvi met with police officers injured during clashes with PTI supporters and praised their bravery. He particularly criticised Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, accusing him of orchestrating violence, including an attack on police that left 80-85 officers injured.

Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar also warned that no protestors would be allowed near D-Chowk during the summit. He emphasised the importance of maintaining security, as high-level international dignitaries would be attending the conference. Tarar accused PTI of repeating past disruptive tactics, which delayed key projects like CPEC.
Meanwhile, Gandapur’s convoy, heading toward Islamabad, faced police resistance near Rawalpindi, where PTI supporters clashed with security forces. The convoy is expected to continue its journey after pausing overnight.
