Born in Sialkot on November 9, 1877, Allama Iqbal received his early education in a traditional maktab and later attended Sialkot Mission School, where he successfully completed his matriculation exams. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Government College, Lahore, in 1897 and obtained his Master’s Degree two years later. He was appointed as a lecturer in history, philosophy, and English at Lahore’s Oriental College.

Allama Iqbal was the visionary who conceived the idea of Pakistan and employed his poetic prowess to inspire the Muslims, particularly the youth of the subcontinent, in their struggle against British colonial rule and their demand for an independent nation. Regrettably, he did not live to witness the realization of the dream of a separate homeland for Muslims and passed away on April 21, 1938.

To honor the poet’s contributions to the creation of Pakistan, seminars and events will be held across the nation on November 9th
